For the time being, this translation is on hold. If someone wants to help me with it, I may start it up again. However, it is already released in full English by Nintendo, so I'm not going to spend much time on it.

Here is a large item update. It includes 20 more items and their descriptions translated! I'll update the info on the site tomorrow.

The next patch is up. This patch finshes most things up to Goldenrod City besides the trainers between Goldenrod and Azalea. It also translates 4 more items and 5 more item descriptions, 1 more attack, some of the Disable and Hypnosis text, the text when you Cut trees, the text when a pokemon is sent to the PC and the signs up to Goldenrod City. NOTE: It appears that the Poke Center in Goldenrod has a bug. You shouldn't try entering it without saving first.

Here's the next patch. There are many things done in this patch -- 9 more attacks, 3 attack descriptions, 1 more item, all of Azalea Town besides text when Kurt is making your ball and what his granddaughter says when you ask him to make you a ball, 1 more trainer type, 4 more trainer and 1 more leader names, 1 more Pokemon type, plus the text when you are poisoned, when a stat won't raise or lower further, when you flinch from something like Bite, when Spite and Fury Attack are used and when you learn more than 4 moves. Plus, more text for the Egg is translated.

The next update is ready. This patch didn't get as far as I had hoped, but it still translates a lot more in Azalea Town. It translates all people from Azalea Town before fighting Team Rocket in Slowpoke Well, all the text when fighting Team Rocket except the name which may be Grunt with the first part as just Rocket (if you are playing later and fight a Team Rocket member that isn't a Grunt, let me know if you see "R. Grunt" before their name and send me a screenshot or save state from that part), and all dialog at Kurt's house after beating Team Rocket except the extra thing that his granddaughter says after you talk to him. She only says one thing in Gold/Silver, but she says two things in Crystal, so I'm not sure what the other is yet. That only leaves a few dialogs left in Azalea Town. Also translated is one more trainer type, one item description, the text when you use a life-taking attack like Leech Life, the text when using the Wrap attack and all items in Kurt's house. Remember to check the forum for updates on future patches before they are released.

Finally an update! If you've read the forum, you know what has been going on, so I won't post it here. Instead, here is what has been updated in this patch... 3 more trainer types, 6 more trainer names, 3 more items with descriptions, all of Union Cave your first time through and everything between Union Cave and Azalea Town besides the girl by the cave, all signs up to and including Azalea Town, the personal stats screen is finished and some of the text when you get confused is done.

The next patch is ready.  This patch translates almost everything up to Union Cave.  Sprout Tower is now complete as well as Alph Ruins (except the two new guys).  Phone calls made to your Mom or Elm from Violet City are done and the phone call from your Mom when she buys you something is done.  The evolution process is done except if you cancel it, 5 more items and 8 more attacks are done, Frieda in Route 32 is done, some of the Select button text is done, the text when you go fishing is done, and more menus and battle text have been translated.  Also, a minor fix to a pokemon's name and some minor formatting changes are done.

The next patch is out.  This patch translates most of Violet City.  The only part of the city not complete is Sprout Tower and some of the Alph Ruins.  It also translates Elm's PC in his house, the phone calls from Mom and Elm up to Violet City, the trading system (at least for trading Bellsprout and Onix), 1 more attack, the saving screens, more menus, more battle text, more miscellaneous text and a few fixes.

Here's the next patch.  This patch includes almost everything up to Violet City and all signs up to Route 32.  It also translates 2 more attacks, more menus, names of all the places in map #1 except one that wasn't in Gold/Silver, more battle text and some miscellaneous things.
